About Me

My photo
I live in La, work full time and dabble in art when ever I can. I would love to be able to do my art full time--who knows, maybe one day I will. In the past year, I started doing Festivals, trying to sell my Art. It is A LOT of work, but worth it. I have met so many people with the same interests as myself.

Oil City Show

If you haven't registered at my art website, you have until Dec. 24.  Follow the link @ Venus Blues Art Hideaway .  "Crying Hibiscus" is going to be this months prize.  It is an 8" x 10" print of my original art work mounted on a gallery frame.  Drawing will be Dec. 24.

Booth at Oil City, La.

We had our show in Oil City.  It turned out to be a good night weather wise.  They forecast rain for that  evening but it held off 'til after the show.  It was an Okay show--I have had much better, and a few worse.  I have found out one thing with my art.  The smaller and more conventional the town, the less I sell.  The larger and more diverse the crowd, the better I do.  I think that I am going to start doing the larger shows and start foregoing the small ones.  I think next year, after the holidays, I am going to start looking into the larger shows.

I am just about ready for Christmas.  I am going to try to get my Christmas cards out today.  If I can do that I will be ahead.

Hope that you all have a great day.

  1. I just love art shows. We used to do quite a few years ago when we were doing ceramics. Don't do them anymore this one looks like a good show, glad the rain stayed away for you.Your art work looks beautiful. Am doing boutiques now and we just had a great one this last weekend. No more ceramics, doing religious things now. Hugs...Lu

  2. Your work is just beautiful Faye and I'm delighted to see you're showing through the art festival circuit ~ as you should be! I hope you'll think about selling through Etsy too, I'm sure your beautiful creations would do quite well!
