About Me

My photo
I live in La, work full time and dabble in art when ever I can. I would love to be able to do my art full time--who knows, maybe one day I will. In the past year, I started doing Festivals, trying to sell my Art. It is A LOT of work, but worth it. I have met so many people with the same interests as myself.

We have made it into the winter months and the holidays are upon us--and Wow!! Has it been a busy fall.  The shows are finally over and the shopping and decorating has begun.  Christmas is my favorite time I year.  I love teh holiday movies, the holiday decorating, the holiday baking--and, oh yeah--the holiday eating.  My son is going to be here this year for Christmas.  He lives in Deleware and I don't get to see him nearly as much as I would like to.  But--He is coming in today and it will be the first Christmas that we have spent together for 15 years!! I am a happy mama :) I have the meal planned, the presents bought and wrapped, just waiting for the day to arrive!

this is one of my last pieces.  I call it Dessin.  I got the wood panel in Canton, Tx. when we went there in November.  It is quite large.  I would say 2' x 3'.  I drew the dress form, felted a wool sweater, and cut out the design from the sweater (that is the swirls in the corner and on the top shoulder.  I added a zipper to the center of the form and lots of embellishements and color.

I haven't spent much time in the studio lately, I will start back again in the early spring. I have been playing "Catch-Up" for the past several weeks.  I kinda let the house go when I was getting ready for the shows.

Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season!!

Life and assorted stuff

I wanted to add a picture of this flower.  It is called a "Confederate Rose".  When it is new it has a beautiful creamy white color............

As the bud matures, it developes a lovely pink hue......Really very interesting if you think about it.  It metamorpasizes, transforms and then withers away.  Kinda like people.  As we age, we change, develop and then, we too wither and die.  But the in-between time is full of color and glorious.

This is Savannah--My original girl.  She was my first horse.  I bought her when she was 6 mos. old.  She has turned into my beautiful Savanah-anna, Sassafras and princess Savanannah.  She is full of spunk and attitude and only wants things her way--typical female :).

I have been working at the warehouse cleaning out boxes of assorted paperwork, trying to get rid of and file the endless stream of paperwork required on a job.  I found this little guy in one of the boxes.

My oldest brother made it down last weekend--we had a wonderful time.  We went out on the lake fishing.  This was our view at sunset........

The following day we went fishing at the river.  We didn't catch anything but had a great time doing it.  The entire weekend turned out to be an adventure for all of us.

This is the love of my life, Lewis.

This is my booth at the final show of the year (thank goodness!!!).  It was in Natchitoches, La. It was a good show.  I am so relieved that they are over for the year.  I have so much to catch up on around the house and for the holidays. It is a welcome relief.

And, Last but not least--Alma.  The Belle of the Ball, Scarlett O'Hara.  She is a lovely lady who paints and is attendance at many of the same shows that I do.  She is always a joy and a different character for every show.
